week of 3/31 - 4/4

posted Mar 31, 2014, 5:17 AM by George Drinnin
Animal behavior is done and we are quickly moving along to our next section over classification.  Science loves to classify anything and everything into neat little lists or diagrams. Any living thing is classified and placed in a particular spot all based off its physical features or characteristics. Without some prior knowledge these diagrams and lists can be quite over-whelming at first but with practice it is easily understood. The content comes straight out of chapter 18, starting on page 510. This is what the week will look like (approx.)

Monday 3/31: Introduction to dichotomous keys and practice on how to make them
Tuesday 4/1: More practice with dichotomous keys, identifying organisms based off the keys
Wednesday 4/2: Wrap up dichotomous keys, Intro to the 6 Kingdoms of life with a worksheet
Thursday 4/3: 6 Kingdom vocabulary tree, Intro to Cladograms
Friday 4/4: More Cladogram practice and work in classification stations
