This week we will continue to go over Meiosis. We will also talk about any possible problems that could occur with meiosis like nondisjunction, a chromosomal disorder. The students will also learn how our DNA is mapped out on a diagram called a karyotype. There is a quiz on Friday the 7th. It will cover Meiosis and chromosomal disorders. This is what the week will look like (approx) :
Monday 3rd : Meiosis whiteboard activity and blood type/sex-linked trait worksheet Tuesday 4th : Nondisjunction notes and haploid/diploid worksheets, also intro to karotype Wednesday 5th : Karyotyping activity SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!
Thursday 6th : Review in class for the quiz Friday 7th : Meiosis and Chromosomal disorder Quiz, transgenic organism intro We will have shortened classes on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday due to Freshman registration done in Advisory. It will be a pep-rally schedule with Advisory meeting at the end of the day on those days. |
