week of 11/4 - 11/7

posted Nov 3, 2014, 5:43 AM by George Drinnin   [ updated Nov 6, 2014, 6:32 AM ]
This week we start off with a quiz over cell membrane and cell transport on Tuesday.
Then we move on to bacteria and viruses!! These little guys have been around for a looooong time and we are going to discover why they hung around and why they are so hard to get rid of. There is a lot of material to cover with bacteria and viruses so we will be doing lots of notes and different class discussion activities to break the monotony of note taking and lecturing.
It's a very interesting unit with lots of new vocabulary for the kids to wrap their heads around so make sure they look/go over their notes for a few minutes every night at home to help retain the information!

This week at a glance (approx.):
Monday 11/3: review for the membrane/transport quiz
Tuesday 11/4: Membrane/Transport Quiz
Wednesday 11/5: Bacteria Book Quest
Thursday 11/6: Intro to Viruses, Are Viruses Alive Article, Characteristics of Life
